Welcome to Metro Buddy! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Metro Buddy mobile application (“App”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms in compliance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including but not limited to the UAE Consumer Protection Law, Cybercrime Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021), and Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL – Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

• Purpose: Metro Buddy is designed to assist users in tracking their metro journeys by providing alarm notifications before their designated stop.
• Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use this App. If you are under 18, parental consent may be required as per UAE regulations. By using this App, you confirm that you comply with these eligibility requirements.
• User Responsibilities: You agree to use the App for lawful purposes only and in accordance with UAE laws. You shall not misuse the App for fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful activities. You must not attempt to disrupt the App’s functionality, introduce malware, or engage in hacking or cyberattacks.

2. Alarm and Notifications

• Accuracy & Limitations: The Metro Buddy App provides station alarms based on estimated travel times. However, external factors such as metro delays or connectivity issues may affect accuracy. Users must not rely solely on the App and should remain aware of their surroundings while traveling. Metro Buddy is not responsible for any missed stops, delays, or disruptions in metro services.
• Changing Routes: Users can change their starting or destination station at any time. The alarm will reset based on the newly selected station. Metro Buddy is not liable for missed stops due to manual changes or unexpected metro disruptions.

3. Data Privacy & Security

• Metro Buddy complies with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and guarantees the protection of your personal data.
• Metro Buddy collects minimal personal data necessary for its functionality. Your location data may be used only to enhance route tracking and alarm accuracy. We do not sell, share, or misuse user data for unauthorized purposes.
• Users have the right to request access, modification, or deletion of their data as per UAE law. To request data deletion, users can contact our support team via the in-app support section.
• Metro Buddy may integrate with third-party services (such as mapping or metro APIs) for improved functionality. We are not responsible for data handling by third-party services.

4. Limitation of Liability

• Metro Buddy is provided “as is” without any express or implied warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, 100% accurate alarms, or metro schedule reliability.
• Metro Buddy shall not be liable for missed stops, metro service changes, or any inconvenience caused due to reliance on the App. Users are responsible for ensuring they are aware of their metro stops.

5. Updates and Modifications

• We reserve the right to update or discontinue any feature of Metro Buddy without prior notice. Your continued use of the App after an update signifies your acceptance of the new Terms.
• Metro Buddy may update these Terms in compliance with UAE regulations. Users will be notified of significant changes through the App or email (if applicable).

6. Account Termination & Restrictions

• We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in activities that disrupt the app’s operations.
• We reserve the right to block or report users who engage in cyber violations in accordance with UAE Cybercrime Laws.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

• Applicable Law: These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
• Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of UAE courts. Metro Buddy will attempt to resolve disputes amicably before escalating to legal proceedings.
